  Ah, those Englishmen or Great Music

  ah, those englishmen.. attended a concert recently conducted by the noted englishman roger norrington, sir roger that is.

  the first half was rather ho hum; good but not simulating.

  you know this type of music, mostly strings, a couple of horns and little else.. after the intermission he really got going.

  Bribery JW Style

  this is a true story of bribery by a jw business man who was a baptized witness.

  he was a regular publisher at the time, but he missed many meetings because of his business needs and because he was not lettered.

  he struggled to read and therefore to participate in the tms, etc.

  Blood Needed

  the american red cross has issued an alert that large amounts of blood will be needed for the large numbers of victims of burns and other injuries from todays tragic events.. id like to see a thoughtful explanation from brooklyn or a loyal jw on how the no-blood strategy can reasonably work in horrific situations such as we are seeing this morning.. .

  nbc news reports that a catholic cardinal is at the entrance to one of the hospitals in new york giving last rights to victims of the tragic events of this morning.. do you suppose that the gb members are providing comforting services to these victims?

  after all, they are right across the river from the former world trade center.. .

  the logical next step is to ask of what the funeral itself would consist.

  since becoming an ex-jw i have been wondering what my wife (also now an ex-jw) would do if i preceded her in death.

  "I'll be praying for you"

  ill be praying for you.

  this thread is not about literally praying for someone (not trying to get into a discussion here about the existence of a god) so much as it is about the thought behind such words uttered by one person by another individual who the speaker knows is facing a difficult situation.
